Hans Storebo

November 16, 2006

My sister’s father-in-law passed away early this morning in Saskatoon. It has been a long time coming as he has suffered from Dementia for the last several years. Les and Rich are on their way to Saskatoon from Calgary in the next day or so.

Prayers for their safety and other family members as they travel to be there.

Prayers for Rich’s mom Alice and the other kids in the family.

My parents and I will travel there Monday for the funeral. I will be there to help with the children as needed.

One of the blessings I count now being closer to home is the opportunity to be there for family in times like this.

UPDATE: My brother-in-law will give the eulogy at the funeral. Prayers that God may speak through him, give him wisdom, guidance….peace.

Sometimes It Is Hard to Understand Why?

November 7, 2006

I guess I am a bit like Dixie. I love to read pregnancy blogs. Sometimes I even go back in the archives of people’s blog I come across and spend hours reading different accounts of their pregnancies and birthing experiences.

Today I came across 2 different blog posts that told of the harsh realities of life. Two different sets of parents, both from Saskatoon. Sometimes what we hope and dream for our children and babies to be are not what God has planned. Though I do not know these people I still cry with them today. I also stand in awe of these parent’s courage and their faithfulness to continue to trust God’s plan.
